Translucent layered washes — amethyst, copper, jade, gold — laid down with chemical mordants that react in ways I never fully control. Each layer bleeds into the next. Stains appear where I didn't put them. The painting is half-painted, half-grown. Some areas have an iridescent quality you can only see from particular angles. Square format because the composition needs symmetry to read. A piece that keeps revealing itself.
