An aerial view of a tree canopy rendered as mosaic — small tiles of emerald, lime, ochre, gold against a dark teal ground. The leaves stay flat, decorative, golden in places where they catch the light. I think of it as a forest stripped of its actual leafiness and made ornamental instead. The composition rewards the long look. Stand close and the mosaic resolves into individual chips. Stand back and it becomes a single tree.
