A single rough Zen circle painted in one motion — open at the bottom, where the brush lifted, leaving a small break in the form. The traditional reading is that the imperfection is the painting. I like it because it asks for nothing. Square format keeps the circle from feeling decorative. Black ink on warm cream paper, exactly the way it has been done for centuries. A still object.
