A single horizon dividing saturated colour from saturated colour — violet sky meeting ember earth, deep teal slipping in along the seam. There's no landscape here in the literal sense. Just the idea of one. The horizon line is what gives the painting its weight. I tend to paint these flat, then rotate the canvas a few times until the horizon decides which way it wants to face. Hang at eye level and let the horizon do its work.
